Angus, a renowned leader in health informatics and orthopaedic surgery, established the Faculty of Health Informatics at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, serving as Dean (2000–2005). He developed a master’s programme in health informatics and co-created the eLogbook for surgical training in the UK and Ireland. A professor in Nottingham for 30 years, Angus specialised in shoulder and elbow surgery and co-founded the British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS). With 350+ research papers and ongoing academic contributions, he now leads UKDHC, demonstrating his lasting impact on clinical informatics and healthcare innovation.
