Marcela is chief clinical information officer at Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and The Hillingdon Hospital. A trained anaesthetist and intensivist with degrees from Argentina, Spain and the US, she has combined clinical expertise with digital innovation throughout her career. Her research on thromboembolic prevention and postoperative memory decline has been recognised with the award for Researcher of the Year and as a finalist for the NHS Digital Pioneer Award. Marcela is an IEEE SA CertifAIEd AI Lead Assessor, part of MIT’s 2024 Chief Digital Officer cohort and director of UK Digital Health & Care, promoting digital literacy in healthcare.
