James, a consultant forensic psychiatrist, has been the chief clinical information officer at Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Trust since 2013. With extensive experience in clinical informatics, he played a key role in making the Trust one of the UK’s most digitally advanced mental health organisations. James chaired the Digital Health CCIO advisory panel from 2019 to 2023 and, in 2023, joined InterSystems as a physician executive. He is committed to advancing clinical informatics as a career field.
