Digital products and systems are ubiquitous in healthcare. Their introduction has accelerated over the last 10-15 years. We know that many patients are harmed during their interactions with healthcare organisations and that the rate of adverse events has not moved significantly in that time. What evidence is there that patient safety benefits from digitisation? Or is it possible that we are less safe, now that we are reliant on such systems?
