The challenge is validating the apps for the NHS without incurring huge expense and then getting the commercial directorate of NHS England (and the other devolved nations) to purchase the apps without having to jump through all the hurdles provided by the NHS purchasers.

Digital products and systems are ubiquitous in healthcare. Their introduction has accelerated over the last 10-15 years. We know that many patients are harmed during their interactions with healthcare organisations and that the rate of adverse events has not moved significantly in that time.
