Speakers
Dr François Taljard, consultant anaesthetist at University Hospital Monklands since 2009, holds a MBChB (University of Pretoria), FRCA (RCoA London), MBCS and a MSc in Health Informatics (University of Sheffield). After serving as a military medical officer in South Africa, he transitioned to the UK, gaining extensive experience in paediatric anaesthesia, PICU and critical care retrieval. A Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, Francois is also a PhD researcher at the University of Strathclyde. He contributes significantly to clinical care, health informatics and safety in both public and private healthcare sectors.

Dr Shona McConnell MBChB, FRCA is a consultant anaesthetist at University Hospital Hairmyres, NHS Lanarkshire. As clinical lead for preoperative assessment at the hospital she leads NHS Lanarkshire in improvements to preoperative assessment, including the digitalisation of assessment processes.
